I agree that the image has an overall red tinge. If you shot this image in RAW, you could easily have nailed the color balance using the eyedropper tool on the fur of Santa's hat. Then you could have worked with brightness, contrast and sharpening. If you shot in JPEG, you could have had a lot more control shooting in RAW...
