Dried out Queen Anne's Lace plant in the snow

My wife and I were out on snowshoes for a couple of hours to try to get a bit of exercise before the second snowstorm in two days was getting ready to hit us. We got 15cm / 6" of snow yesterday and are expecting the same today.

So, fresh fallen snow, heavy overcast skies about an hour before the storm was supposed to hit made for interesting shadowless photography. This dried out Queen Anne's Lace was sitting there by it self, sticking out of the snow, waiting to have its picture taken...

Just plain strange conditions for photography... Rather minimalist.

Manfred, that is actually dried out Queen Anne's Lace, but beautiful, none the less. I might be tempted to make it a narrower crop on the sides, but that is only to try it. Not that it would be better.

Thanks for the correction, Maire; I'll fix up the post. The reason for the crop is that I will be printing on a standard piece of paper (17" x 22"), so the crop is dictated by external factors.

No matter. I love that the white snow is white.
