The Manfrotto 055CXPRO3 (carbon fibre) tripod is standing here proudly beside me. Hopefully get out tomorrow to put it through its paces.

Do give us a report, as I have been thinking about trading in the Tamron 18-270 and picking one up

A Caribbean cruise out of Miami for a few days... 27+ years together, we buy stocking stuffers for each other and plan a trip away together instead of expensive gifts....

Having said that I should be able to get a few photos during the trip...

I use one of those Donald - a brilliant bit of kit.

Amongst the things I got were a pair of The North Face Etip Gloves - been after than for ages. Thin enough to use my camera gear and made with some sort of alien weave that lets you use a touch screen device, like my iPhone. Brilliant. Nice pair of Beghaus boots too so there is no reason for me not to get out and take pictures......other than gale force winds, driving rain

On the basis of one 'field test' - Great.

Everyone writes about how much you actually feel the difference between this and its aluminium stable-mate, but you honestly don't think it can feel THAT different. It does.

Whether it's strapped to the backpack or you're hand carrying for shorter distances, it's great to carry around. And, of course, your hands don't get frozen on that lovely warm and cuddly (!) carbon fibre.
