    Blue Jay

Nothing terribly fancy. I am trying to shoot at higher shutter speeds, IBD.* Blue jays have been a rarity in my neck of the woods due to West Nile Virus. This bird has begun to frequent the backyard feeder this winter and is a bit shy still when I slide the window open (not terribly excited to stand outside as current temperature is about -16F)

    *ISO be damned

Randy, I love this image. The bokeh and the subtle colors and of course the beautiful bird with his great expression really make this work. Thanks for sharing. Here in New Jersey it's 20 degrees and I'm cold..I don't envy you..stay warm.

I sorta cheated on the bokeh by deselecting bird on a twig and doing a liberal Gaussian blur on less favorable background. As far as conditions, all that I can say is that you get used to it
