Macro work is one of the reasons I have decided to upgrade my ancient aps dslr. The other relates to one of Brian's more recent posts relating to depth of field and on similar subjects that he has posted in that thread. Macro on m 4/3 is still a bit of an open subject for me but I have my doubts. Even using AF plus focus check which briefly brings up the magnified view wont be easy. AF tends to focus onto rather then into things as well. On the other hand I reckon I can judge results via the view finder using a dslr. No I don't really need to upgrade from a 6mp 300D for this especially for web shots but we all know how that goes and considering it's age I have more than had my money's worth out of it.

I am using my 50mm Takumar with about 60mm of extension tubes on the E-PL1 "Swarf on the mill"

Need a little advice for an unusual situation

Since I do not really know how to use the E-PL1 it is rather hit or miss at the moment ... magnification is better than 1:1 with this set up [10/17 ] though this is a about a quarter crop 1800/4000 pixels across before resizing to post here.
