    India Gate - Flowers Decoration

Hi, going forward on my photography venture I stopped and clicked another shot. Can you please review it and let me know what exactly is missing for it to make it much better?

Title: "Blissful Tribute for those Glorified"

It is a similar shot to one of my image "Tribute to our soldier" from India Gate series. But this is from the front side with more vibrant flowers and more flowers were added on the occasion of christmas.

    Composition & framing:
Here i tried to show the decoration of India Gate (approx 50% importance to the decoration, 30% to the gun & the helmet, 20% to the names on the wall).

    Post Processing:
It is a mix image of dreamy and sharp look. I tried to enhance the color contrast between the flowers with some little glow and rest of the image sharp, especially the names of the brave soldiers.

It is a shot from my new lens Minolta 75-300mm (Used) which is not a very sharp lens and bought it for only $70. It was not easy to cut down the haze (easily noticeable in the back trees) to add contrast in post processing.

I'm not sure if the composition & post processing suits this scene because of the fact i deliberately gave more weightage to the decoration rather than a very strong element i.e Gun & Helmet.

    Thank You

    Hi Raj,

Post processing is fine considering the shooting conditions, composition has too much and too little to bring out the best in the memorial. With the 75-300mm you either have to step back too capture all of the scene or isolate certain aspects. I would have probably framed the rifle and helmet against the inscribed names or have the forested area as a backdrop. The flame would have added nicely to the same setup.

    Nice effort.

Thank you for your kind review. I will surely take the composition as suggested as i will be visiting this place in next few days. I have other shots too where i have captured more of the scene.
