That was beautiful, very sharp and the bokeh is nicely done.

Altogether successful - in addition to the praise above, I would add that the low perspective (level with the substrate) is important to the success of this image. I also think the depth of field chosen (with some of the blossoms out of it) is very effective.

    Re: Saxifraga

    Hi Rudi,

The shot is well exposed, good focus and depth of Field - and as Mark says, the low angle helps this stand above the average shot (sorry about the bad pun)

However, when applying sharpening, I would suggest trying a smaller radius (and possibly a lower amount too) though, as I believe I can see dark halos around the white petals against the (nicely soft) background.

The image needs to be viewed at 100% - i.e. the full 1200 x 800px, to see this issue best though.

    I hope that helps,

There is an unexplained blurry below the left lower flower...why for?

Dave: Thanks for comments and bringing up the 'sharpening'. Lately I am experimenting with Nik-Sharpener,
I have not yet figured out the settings that works best for me...
And yes, your comments do help a lot.

Frank: Thanks for taking time to leave a comment.

Wim: I noticed the obvious blurry parts just now. Sometimes I need a fresh pair off eyes....

Thanks for the comments, really appreciated.

    Re: Saxifraga

Yeah but, what caused it...were I to guess, it looks like a photo-stacking mishap.

Nice shot. Elegant in its simplicity. Sharpening tweaks have already been mentioned. Lovely.

Wim: This picture is a stack off 5 images. After checking the originals I think the blurry parts are due to a lack off my stacking skills....Another thing to work on.....Thanks for mentioning the blurry parts.

    Dan: comments truly appreciated.

Not necessarily Rudi, PS can sometimes be rather finicky...repeating the whole ting might cough out different results. Additionally chose the best source image for that area and cut & paste it into that area.

Nandakumar: thanks for the nice words. Those tiny flowers are really very nice IMHO.

Wim: I repeated the whole scenario a few times this afernoon, with different results, more or less. I will try to cut & paste
as you mentioned. I will also try Zenere.
