What have you captured with your camera phone?

Before I bought my Nikon DSLR at the end of November , I always used my camera phone to capture interesting images. I never knew about aperture, exposure, shutter speed, and so on. A few years back, I would use my point and shoot, but then the phone cameras just got better and better and the point and shoot sat in a drawer, and my phone was so easy to whip out and shoot a pic. I have quite a few favorite images that I've captured, some by luck and some purposeful. I know a lot of photographers become nauseous with instagram filters and the likes, but I love them. Hopefully, once I am able to get a proper photo editing program, I can leave some of those filters behind and create a really unique look in my photos. But anyway, I was wondering, what are some of your favorite camera phone shots? Here are a few of mine : )

This is a small church up in the mountains where I grew up. Instagram filter.
What have you captured with your camera phone?
These are my two dogs, Dio and Ollie. Warm filter from my camera settings on this one
What have you captured with your camera phone?
I've always loved this one. Taken with the Retro Camera app
What have you captured with your camera phone?
I probably took 400+ pictures on this evening trying to capture a lightning bolt and I actually caught some lightning. I was super excited. No filter on this one.
What have you captured with your camera phone?
Another one shot with Retro Camera app. I love shadows. I think they make for really interesting images.
What have you captured with your camera phone?

I have a ton of other images I love that are scattered between my FB and Instagram but these at at the top. I'm looking forward to getting some more images that I love with my *new*camera!

So what are some of your favorite phone camera images?

There have been some interesting posts and threads on the internet about the future of the PS camera - the consensus seems to be that it is being replaced by the phone.

Just google "what is the future of the point and shoot camera".

    Hi Hope,

This is an easy one, 'NOTHING'.

My daughter took the only picture that's ever been taken on my phone, a mug shot of her, and it's on the screen when I open the phone. I would not have a clue how to download it as I'm a total mobile phone Luddite.

We were walking to the beach sans camera and came upon this koala mom and youngster. The only wild koala that we saw in three weeks. BG blurred in PSE.

I only have a 1mpx camera on my Tracfone and I wait until the cards filled before transferring to my computer. I placed them in a folder and have yet to examine how they look. Later today I'll attach one.

Only have three out of one hundred thirty-five uploads worth posting. These are the best of the worst.

Amsterdam Airport-waiting to go home after a week in Hungary.

My two favorites were ones that I took when I didn't have my Kit handy. I previously posted both here.

Same - with one exception: A snapshot of my 4 grandchildren to be used as wall paper. Phones are for talking or texting.

Ditto. I don't even know which button it is that I press when the damn thing goes off and then shows me a picture of my feet!

But I see you can now buy lenses that attach to phone cameras for better quality pictures. I wonder if the phone camera is actually a long-term strategy of the proper camera manufacturers to get the selfie-obsessed, i-phone generation into proper photography.

I probably should have put my cell phone pictures in-line, rather than use a link as I did in post #7, so here is another similar image I took that day....

Re: What have you captured with your camera phone?

My phone is used for two things only -- either to make a call or answer a call. Then one day on our way home, I saw this beautiful sunset..and I forgot I changed my purse that day and did not take my camera with me. I asked my financier (DH) to stop the car in a safe place (happened at Walmart car park THF) and below is the image I got:

Hm - that's why I have a 2 computers, an Ipad and a Kindle Fire HD. Does all that stuff too, and with my eyesight, I need a larger screen than a smartphone. My laptop can be hooked up to my 52" HDTV.
    All set.
