Thank you for the comment and I must apologise for overlooking your post in my eagerness to provide informative comment to my trans Tasman neighbours.

I used to live near Camden. It is a nice area and probably has enough sheep to keep your son happy.

I have several friends over there, one of whom is a kiwi -- he married an Italian woman. It took them about 10 years to work out the difference between six and sex.*

"How many potatoes do you want for dinner, dear?"
    "Can I have sex?"

"How many beers should I get you, dear?"
    "Can I have sex?"

"How many kids should we have?"
    "I want sex"

    They have 5 children.

Greg you are terrifying me. The thought that I may end up with some Australian grandchildren has sent a chill down my spine...

Actually he is just out of Camden living in a new house that has been built in the middle of a disused car racetrack. If I look at it on Google earth it is just an old track with no houses anywhere.

Oran Park where ever that is. I think I know but it should have dwellings scattered haphazardly all over the place but Google earth's 4 year old image shows none. It may all possibly be a complete myth.

Ah , yeah. Oran Park is north-west of Narellan, and Narellan is north of Camden. (Menangle is closer to Camden, in the south-east.) At the rate Sydney is expanding though, Narellan will soon be considered part of Sydney's western suburbs. It is damned hot out that way in summer.

Looks like a large development going on there - may be part of NSW government strategy to drive down the cost of housing.

Thanks for the link - maybe it is not a myth. Yes, I suspected it was hot when my son skyped me last night. He wandered around with his laptop showing off the house to me and took great delight in pointing to the air conditioner on the wall. Sounds like it is a necessity not just an optional extra. I dislike urban sprawl anywhere but I suppose it is just a sign of our amazing and sophisticated western lifestyle.

This has turned out to be quite the thread, gorgeous photo, tickle my funny bone comments.

My 2.5 kilo cat is 22 years old and still thinks he is a kitten. He was the boss of my dog. (a 35 kilo Shepard who has crossed the rainbow bridge)

    L. Paul, all you have to do to show your cat whose boss is pull out the vacuum and turn it on.

I have taken a great deal of time and careful consideration as to how to answer this post but I am still bewildered by the confession. I have decided I can be of no help so you may be best visiting a priest. You may of course have adjusted to the extent that you feel no guilt at all, enjoy your new lifestyle and have only owned up to confuse me.

Frank you seem to be taking this very serious thread a bit lightly...

Interestingly the cat is going to Australia but the vacuum cleaner has to be left behind as it was not possible to clean it sufficiently and would have needed to undergo an expensive fumigation treatment.

In that case we both know who will be boss. And they become far bossier as they advance in years.

    Enjoy your time in Australia!

Oh no I indeed still feel a particularly generous serving of guilt (& Im not even Catholic) on 2 occasions - firstly whenever I visit 'home' & the passport control person gives me a glare that would make most 15yr old girls proud & comments that my country has a shortage of workers in my occupation, perhaps I might consider my choices! ... The other occasion being when I attend an Aussie rules game.... & I know the rules

p.s My friends brother just received a nasty electric shock from the Dyson... He is recovering, the family cat is nowhere to be found...
