    Ginger a male cat

House and cat sitting over Christmas and to frighten the cat off the bed I decided a full on flash photography attack would do the trick. The cat which for some unknown reason my grandson called ginger did not budge and just tried to stare me out. I know the lighting is harsh but I was not attempting a flattering portrait. This is about the 5th failed attempt to get him to leave the bed all to me. You should be able to judge from the look who got their way.

Thanks Christina and Marie. Yes it is one determined cat. After I had bombarded it with flash shots it semi-turned its back to me and proceeded to clean its self totally ignoring me. A scornful look followed by disdainful indifference.

Yes Isabel I certainly know I am not the boss. Ginger is just over a year old and has had to coexist with a large energetic chocolate Labrador so has been forced to be rather assertive.

Seems to me the light is not too harsh. Quite well lit in my estimation. Nicely isolated too

I am afraid that Ginger may do you harm in the future. He obviously didn't think a bright light in his eyes while he was occupying his given place as Ruler of the Universe on the best sleeping spot in the house was anything more than a feeble attempt by an inferior species. He now has 16 to 20 years to plot his revenge

I was a bit lucky with the background as there were black window curtains behind him. (We are required to leave the window open for Gingers convenience)

He can plot all he likes but in about 10 days he is being carted off to Australia where he will have more important things to worry about such as cockatoos and snakes.

Never neverland is a very polite reference to that desert island.

Be my guest you may peek as often as you like....I am glad you like it. You must have read to much T. S. Eliot...

"...that desert island" is where my real home is -- Melbourne. You must be referring to the Northern Territory...

And yes, I do love T.S. Elliot -- I should -- he was from Missouri.

    Ginger a male cat

Psychologists suggest we ignore unwanted behavior. This cat obviously totally believes in such an approach.

P.S. I am never one to start an argument but surely a bit of vegetation a few hundred meters wide running from Victoria along some of the south coast then up the east coast past Queensland does not rescue it from being basically a desert island.......

    Dank je well.

P.S. My wife is from Rotterdam but I used to flat with a friend who was from Amsterdam so most of my knowledge of the language consists of words that I am now forbidden to use even on the cat...

Thank you Kay I have always thought that Victorians had wonderful judgement. Just look at the strife I have from NSW.

Hey Greg please give me your address so I can send you my food bills.... I promise not to bite the hand that feeds me.

My son was exported to Camden on Sunday so you can go and pick on him - he is much bigger than me and it is a lot less travel for you. Sometimes I just can't get over how generous I have become.... At the end of week the rest of his family and the above cat will join him. (Naturally as he has abandoned us we are no longer part of the family)

P.S. He has borrowed my Nikon D200 to take photographs of the minimal amount of vegetation. I expect he will be able to send it back after a few days.
