    Long Tailed Tit

    Long Tailed Tit

These little chaps are a nightmare to capture, but I found one who obliged the one eyed monster.

Great picture, exellent colour and detail.
What camera and lens did you use.

Hi David, thanks for your comments, I use a Nikon D90 with a Sigma 150-500mm lens attached.

    Hi Keith

I have to agree, it's a lovely shot. Very well done. I don't think I've seen any to photograph!

    Regards

    Rob.

Thanks Rob, I was following a flock of them up and down a row of shrubs and trees for nearly an hour while they picked at seeds, never got a decent shot.
Then yesterday a small group of them appeared and I managed to get 4 or 5 decent photo's.

That's the way it happens for me with wildlife too; whether you call it luck or perseverance; eventually you get a decent shot if you stick at it and keep going back to the same place(s) time and again and keep your eyes open and figure out what's going on. I think I am a few visits behind you in "perseverance", but am just beginning to learn through experience.

I hardly need say "great shot" (but I have).

    Well done,
