Frank,
I have been home-bound with Shingles. Me + time on my hands + a computer = not a good thing. Did you notice I did not say I had discretionary income to spend? LOLs.

Mixed lighting. Natural light, flash with a Joe Demb Pro Diffuser and a humble painters light with one of those new fangled spiral bulbs in it. WB is Kelvin.

A gorgeous thread. I liked 2 of the first set best!
James, thank you.
I am glad you are enjoying this thread. I just think amaryllis are glorious and I will continue to post until my last one finishes blooming.

A very nice rendition of the Ruby Star Marie. You should be amassing quite a fine collection of Amaryllis images at this point.
The Chico I bought for my wife appears to be still sleeping even though we have watered it and whisper 'GROW' to it several times a day!
Looking forward to seeing the rest of your collection as they yawn, stretch, and bloom.
Frank,
LOL's. Love it! Yes they do. My new babies have arrived except for "Exotic Star". They are planted, and for the moment are slumbering in the sunny bay window and gathering their strength to make blooms.Quote:

It will be a while till my next ones come up. My Red Pearl has 2 more bloom spikes on it that will be out in the next few days. I am going to try to get better shots of the whole plant, rather than just the blooms that i have already posted. We will see.

Thanks Christina.
I am glad you are enjoying these images. I love sharing.
Please, if you have any critique, do not hesitate to comment. i can see that there is still a light-ish area there on the right hand side. I missed it in the edit.

Hi Marie,
All your flowers are gorgeous, and this one's a beauty. Gorgeous light and detail. There is a wee white fleck on the right hand side (around the middle) and a very thin light white line on the top left hand corner
Thanks, Christina,
I see it now. I did not look at this image in the light box, and I should have. That is both sides of the slider door you were seeing.

Amaryllis "Snow White"
This bulb did not arrive in good shape - I thought it got frost nipped. I really thought I would lose it.
It bloomed on a very short scape. The flowers are small, but very pretty with white and lime green.

If it survives to next year, I am hoping it will be prettier.

Amaryllis "Exotic Star".
This one is pretty much SOOC. I shot ISO 1600, SS80, f5.6. When I have better light, I will up to f13 or so. I just thought this was pretty with no enhancements. All cream, green and raspberry.

Hi Marie,
Just to say very pretty indeed. (these last two images) Beautiful colours and detail, and personally I adore the white backgrounds. For some reason the red flowers on the black backgrounds pop more than on the white background. I don't know why but perhaps someone with more experience could advise.
Excellent images !!!! :)
Thanks, Christina,
I agree. Sometimes it just seems that white on white would work better on some images. For example, these last two images i just saw with a white background. Perhaps the stronger colors belong with a black background?
I don't know either.

Stunning images Marie:)
