Very fine. Nicely visually said. But a lot of times I find stems a problem in flower shots. Their lean sharp lines seem out of place against the soft effulgence of the blossom they support - is the softening of the stem your PP on this? Did you consider less stem in this instance?

I like the blue-lilac-violet combination...i too feel removing stem a bit would enhance the appeal

I would consider slightly reducing the brightness of the right side green bits of the stem, I think the stem needs to be there. May also clone out the extraneous green bits in the remainder of the image.

The change from life (the still vibrant flower) to death (full wilt) with steps in between is well done. I like your philosophic interpretation as well

    Thanks Mark,

No the stem was not softened in PP, DOF control. (I don’t know how to apply softening in PP)
The stem is the life giving vein to a flower. In this case I see life flowing to the little bit of flower still blossoming.

    Thanks for the comment.

Trevor, nature has a way of speaking to me. Those whom do not see God’s grace in nature will not understand it.
