David,
I think it's a great shot. I might suggest a bit more crop on the left to get rid of that vertical wall post (or at least the dark area(s) immediately along the edge of the image.
I think the detail in the sky is great as well as the hill in the BG. It's a great shot. (was there inclement weather coming in?)
...and that came out excellent![]()
My first thoughts were the same as Jack - concerning that post on the left.
There is a lot of sky there but it is interesting sky. However, are the land items, tree etc, competing against the sky?
For example, a crop to remove part of the sky and concentrate more on the tree (possibly using a different size ratio). Or a slight reduction in the foreground (to remove the front stone) and bring the tree right into the foreground, which might give a better balance between tree and sky?
Hi Jack, thanks for commenting, when i look at the image again i think your right,i will try the crop later,as for the weather,it was sunny then that bank of cloud rolled in and i.m.o. made the shot, the rain followed a day later![]()

Very nice David. Olive is one of my favorite trees.
Very nice conversion! I hope this hooks you on making monochrome images.
If you have a chance to revisit the subject, try getting closer and shooting upward from a lower perspective that places the horizon no higher than about halfway between where it is now and the base of the tree.
Very nice, indeed, David! I like the olive trees. Actually, I have a certain connection with them. Olive tree, in Portuguese, is "Oliveira" and that is my Surname!
Thanks for sharing!
Yes, David, that reworking brings everything nicely together.
Thanks Mark
