I make you a deal, give me some advice on what type of tripod in the 100 to 200 US dollar range is really good for macro and I just might g back to white on white.

Hi B,i'm not a border fan, but this is better than the green one's,as for tripods,when i'm shooting bugs i dont use one,by the time you get set up your prey has most of the time gone, mine's anyway. I do have a Gitzo carbon fibre one but they are expensive and like iv'e said i dont use it for bugs.There are loads on the market but maybe some of the others on here can advise you better than i can?
The way i shoot B is set my lens to 1-1,switch to manual focus then move back and forward to my subject comes into focus then press the shutter! The only way to try and perfect this is practice,practice then practice some more,it does not work all the time,in fact you will have more for the bin than you will keep,but the keepers will be that bit better

Some like borders some don't. Different likes is good.

You have hit upon my basic problem. I have lost the ability to stand still. Like a ship at anchor I always rock and roll. Sitting down helps a lot, and a good stick to brace myself a little more helps too. Maybe a low rider wheel chair?

Stabil which I got for Christmas, but a bit more than 200US (300 or so). I use a RRS Ballhead on mine, superb combo.
