Yes thanks for that. I was getting a little too carried away with the editing. Just because something is possible doesn't necessarily make it desirable!

Week 13 - Reaching to the Sky!
I was driving to the coast for some seascape photography (see next week after I've done the processing) when I saw these cranes constructing new boat pontoons. So I had to stop for a couple of shots. This one shows the wider scene.
7D with Tamron 24-70. 1/500 F14 Iso 800. These settings were a mistake. I normally 'default' my camera to F11 Iso 400 so it is ready for a quick shot at average settings. But I forgot and had taken a few quick shots before I realised the error. And I preferred the composition of this shot to those with 'correct settings'.
This crane is on a barge and is lifting the 'ground legs' in order to move forward.
1/500 F11 Iso 400.
The backgrounds are a bit busy but I couldn't change that. My main purpose was to get a record of the event.
A couple of weeks ago I passed this scene and liked the idea of 'A ladder to the sky' so I shot with my pocket camera (Fuji X20) but it was really an impossible situation with the building in shadow and I wanted a good sky for the effect.
Left the shot unedited for some time; then had a couple of half-hearted tweaks with it before eventually forcing myself to have a serious attempt at editing. Far from perfect, but it is a record of that event.
Not sure what else I can do to create anything better. Just one of those 'do I - don't I ditch it' scenarios!
Just out of interest I will see if I can find the original unedited image.
