    Road Repair - Rural Texas-style

Mill Creek, the road to town, used to look like this:

    Road Repair - Rural Texas-style

Then the rains came and washed some of it away.

    How it looks now:

    Road Repair - Rural Texas-style

From tarmac to dirt, courtesy of the economy, infrastructure and all that stuff.

Around the bend and over the bridge, the dirt "repair" continues up to a line across the road which, by chance, is exactly where Bellville Highways Dept Precinct 2 stops and Precinct 1 starts

Ted...that is very typical of government style "repairs"... our street here was "repaired" last year. I can show you the before and after too. Before will almost be the as yours....nice road, nothing wrong with it apart from them spending all those money, for what? -- only because the guv'ment wanted to "create" jobs. After -- our road is a mess too...as soon as the rain came, the river two blocks away overflow. It hasn't done that for yonks! until they "repair the road. Oh well...

    Isabel,

Do you get the monster sized hail storms in your area?

Nope...maybe I should say we are really lucky this time around...We had pitiful fine dry snow, blizzard like conditions for over 1 and a half day, then the cold chilly winds yesterday (all of these courtesy of Canada, mind you...sorry Canadians...) Today we reached 22 degs F. almost summerly feel with my thick coat... We only got about 8" in our backyard and the kids (doggies) love it...running like blazes all over the snow...tomorrow night another spate of snow to add to whatever we now have until Friday, so we were told...then rain...wet rain Saturday and Sunday...so there goes my plan to go eagle watching Saturday...

Oh by the way, just so you know...we nearly moved to Texas because of Rick Perry...love him...we are still comparing taxes and the like...I love our place here because we live up a hill with undulating roadways where we sometimes watch some idiots drive like maniacs, but it is still a nice place...

    Cheers...

"yonks" ?? are you, perchance, not from MO?

Yes, I also subscribe to the theory of those Canuks sending their weather over the border to irritate us! It even gets as far as Texas sometimes: 19F the night before last . . .

    Cheers,

How nice...keep it up...we are freezing our butts up last time...Don't you have some nicer weather to share with us. These last snow was just too much -- even Dan from Alaska can feel the cold..
