I have a fairly comprehensive set of Cokin filters ND, Grad neutral and tabacco and effects left over from film days. Apart from ND I now seldom ever use them. My preference now is for exposure bracketing and doing any blending, tone mapping and adjustments in PP. Several quality ND filters and a circ polarizing are all I carry nowadays.

Kood filters are absolutely fine as a starter set and they are cheap. We bought a set for my son just to try out really and they have been used a good deal. The only issue you will tend to have with cheaper filters (compared with, say, Lee) is that they can deliver a slight colour cast (i recall a slight green tinge on the Kood). This is easily corrected in processing though. If you think you will use filters a great deal, then possibly better quality will be more robust and have things like cleaner graduations, but as many people only use them occasionally a significant investment may not be worthwhile.

Nothing at all wrong with Kood, I use their UVs, try Cokin P series
