I remember seeing the barbed wire and glass embedded into walls around the houses, but this one is new to me.

I agree with Mark; it's a very interesting shot and it would be interesting to see a monochrome version. A bit of flash to bring out the texture in the walls would have been an interesting approach as well. The framing works, but is a touch heavy for my taste.

I actually don't think a monochrome version would improve the image. The muted colors in the deep black frame and details of the implements makes a great contrast.
