    this is Dash

This is my five year old Chihuahua, Dash I named her Dash because our other dog a Chihuahua Doxie mix is named DOT.
I got Dash when she was an eleven day old orphan. She came to me in a baby sock wrapped in a hand towel in a small basket. I had to force her to take her "formula" from a doll sized bottle every two hours for several weeks.
At first I didn't think she would make it, Until the day she opened her eyes and growled at me.

    this is Dash

DOF is a bit low but this pooch is camera shy. So I grabbed this shot the way the camera was set.
She wont even look at me when she sees the camera most of the time.

Thanks Jack, I had to say cookie to get her to look my way. Though hot sauce may have worked just as well.

Great story Mark... I am sure that Dash will always be special for you and you special to her because of what you have done to save her life. Congratulations...

I think that darkening the gray background, desaturating the fuchsia quilt a bit and increasing contrast and saturation on dash might draw more attention to this great little dog!

I had never had experience with Chihuahuas until one of our rescue Maltese gave birth to a litter fathered by a Chihuahua. His genes must have really been powerful because all of his puppies looked exactly like Chihuahuas. As the pups were popping out of her, we were wondering what kind of father sired them. After the pups grew a bit older, their Chihuahua genes became very apparent...
