Nice shot, Jack! I love the composition, and simplicity. Nice exposure, and conversion too.

Nice composition Jack, maybe its my monitor but the whites don't look white enough to me.

Beautiful and simple...what else can I say? I love the B/W treatment too. Good shot, Jack...

What a good shot Jack! Great work done by simplicity. I like your black and white background and exposure.

Thank you Andrew.
Thank you Travis, I played around with it, I can get the snow whiter, but then I lose the detail that's in the snow.
Thank you Richard.
Thank you Isabel.
Thank you Scarlet.

Very nice. Big scenes with big trees and big snow wouldn't easily say as much.

Re: Snow Falling on Pines C&C Welcome
I wonder how many people think this is an easy photo to make, not realizing that it's unbelievably difficult to get all of the detail in the snow. I suspect that you didn't have ideal light for making that happen and that you did a great job of making the best of it.
Do me a favor please and try moving your white point considerably farther to the left. You'll brighten the snow and pine needles without losing detail.
Also notice the two pine needles in the lower right corner approaching from outside the frame. Consider removing them, as they go against the direction of everything else in the image.
Last, try cropping at the bottom just a tiny bit more (leave space around the pine needles on the right side) to anchor the pine needles on the left a bit more. The current composition makes me feel as if you accidentally cropped the tips of those needles. Alternatively, allow more space at the bottom (if you have it) so none of the pine needles touch the edge of the frame.

Mark & John, Thank you.
Mike,
Thanks for your comments. I did what you suggested and I agree it looks much better. Let me know what you think.

The revision is so much nicer. Well done, Jack!
By the way, it was very clever of you to create the extra space by clipping the ends of the pine needles. I didn't want you to think that I didn't notice.

Re: Snow Falling on Pines C&C Welcome
Thank you David,
Thanks again, Mike, you helped me get a much better image!
FYI the shot was in situ, with a black background held behind the branch. Lighting was cloudy as it had just stopped snowing minutes before.
P.s. Since this was the best shot and had the most space, option was to either increase canvas size and ADD needle length or (and the much easier/faster option) do a little PP trimming.
