    Just Hanging in There

This guy was totally wasted, I don't know what he had been using but his head just hung there and the cigarette just smouldered away. But he could play. I don't normally like accordion music but this guy was amazing. I was going for a very grainy grungy look, any and all feedback is welcome. I am very new to B@W and rarely do street stuff but I think its a direction I want to explore more.

I really like this image Peter and I think the B&W conversion has been done well.
There is so much story in this photo, one of human tragedy and simple mateship with his dog.
Put this in any competition and it will have my vote.
    Brilliant.
Ps, I'm up that way in March. Where was this photo taken

Mmm, this puts ongoing membership of CiC at serious risk! That being said, mine hasn't been out of its case for a long time. I used to play a lot but then became a born-again photographer.

The poor old box (accordion) looks a bit the worse for wear as well.

It's an excellent image. I do like how you've massaged the light on his jacket, legs and on the case, as well as his upper body.

Brilliant. One of which you should be very proud.

Wonderful - so much story and so much to look at yet it holds together nicely.

The pic was taken in Vancouver during my recent visit. My thanks for the feedback. As I said this is a new direction for me so I am pleased that it worked out. You will enjoy being here in march. The weather is at its best then and the tourist hordes will have left so I hope you enjoy. Haven't been to Tassie for a long time and have very fond memories of your neck of the woods. Again my thanks for your kind words.

Great image! I'll bet that most of you can guess that I have more feelings towards the dog than to the man!

Your photo is why I am into Street Photography. Mostly it's serendipity, but having the *eye* is paramount.
Great shot, even without the narrative it speaks for itself.

Thanks for the kind words about the pic. As for my dislike of accordion music I will qualify that by saying that I am a great fan of zydeco which of course uses a lot of accordion. Does that get me off the potential blacklist of CiC?

    Again thanks for the feedback.

Mmm. Well! Okay. But we'll be keeping a close eye on things. If there are any negative comments about bagpipes, we'll have to review the situation.
