Which planet he is from???? wonderful....
Other than head the remaining part is OOF; was that deliberate ?
I love it..amazing focus on head!! i must say... i am a fan of this kind of macro photography, we all know the "Type" not " Scientific Name" of bug we looking at is..so do we really need it all in focus? For me, i like the impact of the in focus eyes and head has. This is photography. Unless we looking to identify, then yes..we need all detail we can, other than that, we look for impact. Macro seems to have 2 sides to the coin, especially with insect photography. Impact, awe, beauty. Or identification ,fact , species etc
Both, very nice shot.
Cheers Nandakumar, yes is the answer, yes as in when shooting at 1-1 true macro, that is all i could get in focus/unless i focus stacked the image and handheld, that for me is a no no-yetWhen doing bugs its a nightmare trying to get them still for 1 shot never mind 6-12 depending on bug size etc.Still working on the planet though!
Thanks Claudio,i think you have answered a lot of questions non macro people might ask! Cheers bud

You nailed the eyes on this one David, or is it the aliens armoured eye visors?
Grahame
I wonder if that could be an Egyptian, David.
Anacridium aegyptium or something similar?
I like him and have the same plan when attempting macro, just 1 sneaky hand held is very good for me.
The strange thing about photography is when I started & joined the forum, I though phhht there's one sort of area I will never get into!
But next thing I'm chasing bumble bees in New Zealand and dragonfly a in Broome, it really is quite relaxing just getting out without people & watching the teeny critters... Not spiders of course arachnophobia is my constant!
Very nice..May I suggest just a thing? I turned my laptop upsidedown and the picture looked to me lovely? so would you like to give it a go?
David...he is an alien!!! "Come to me...and obey--tell your master that I am here to conquer your world....bwahahhahaha"
Honestly, I love it!
Yes, indeed you did nail the eyes. I think it is a beautiful photo. I love the muted colours, very artistic.
Cheers Grahame
Geoff,i think your spot on!
Thanks Kay,thats the thing about macro, once you start you can easily get hooked, very addictive!
