Canon pancake 40mm f/2.8 STM..

Was playing with this lens after my dinner last night since it's hardly used and abandon in my drybox. No doubt not a Canon L-lens but I find very handy and still not too bad for certain occasion.

Setting: 5DII+EF40mm f/2.8 STM. M-priority mode, ISO1000, f/2.8, 1/50, Auto WB, handheld, without flash, Pshop CS5, Time: 21.04 hrs.

Nice shots Walj. I picked up this lens about a month ago and love it. A great walk about lens with the 6D, but better yet on my tiny SL1 making it about the weight of a point and shoot.

#3 is very cool. Combines the shallow DoF one expects in a slightly artsy portrait with an atypical subject and amusing gesture. Great title, too.

I bought the 40mm f2.8 STM pancake for sneaking my DSLR into events. Event staff usually can't tell it from a big point-and-shoot. Most of the time, I prefer the 50mm f1.4 USM, but the 40's handy for being sneaky.

Canon SL1, 40mm pancake. I really like the 40 on the smaller sensor camera as the focal length equates to 64mm making it a decent lens for portraits
