    My new toy!

So a friend of mine trashpicked this Canon AE-1 the other day and put it up for sale for 50 dollars. I managed to get it for 40 but thats beside the point. This thing is in like perfectly good working condition and it looks brand new except for some paint chipping in the corners. It also came with its original case, and a Canon SpeedLite 177A. In its original case too! I'm pretty happy with my purchase and I can't wait to get some film for it!

I have one I got for me, before I went LF. I gave it to my daughter so it doesn't collect dust and she loves it, too! Awesome camera. The 135mm lens makes for wonderful photos, as does the 28mm. You'll love shooting with it. Get the battery for the built in meter, it'll help if you don't have a light meter.

I used an A-1 (the AE-1's big brother) and an AE-1P for years and years. In fact, I skipped the entire generation of auto focus EOS Canon 35mm film cameras and went directly from the manual focus camera to DSLR...

I still have my Nikon FM2. I don't have the heart to get rid of it.

I had the AE-1 and then moved onto the A1, great cameras. If only I knew then what I do now about actually taking pictures

Yeah, im pretty sure my dslr will be gone before I ever get rid of this thing. (Meaning selling it for a different model) Hell I'll probably go through like 5 dslrs before this thing is gone, its almost double my age.

I feel the same about all my old film cameras. I'm still shooting them and love the way you get more involved in the shot and the scene. I've found that using the film techniques, my digital is improved, also.
