Do you think this is neat and tidy and acceptable?

Of course it is not bad. I asked because what you think of it is more important than what we here would think of it.

You are right Bobo,but I'm new in photography and when I upload photos there are usually mistakes in them and I learn a lot from those mistakes..This one seems good to me but let's see what experts say:-)

Well, as a critique, the sky lacks a lot of drama but I tend to like the subtle shading that shows here. Even the industrial nature of the skyline doesn't harm the image.

Where I think it could be better is to eliminate the water in front of the pier. It takes up about a third of the picture without adding much and puts the converging lines of the pier and shoreline almost exactly on the horizontal center.

It would also help to raise the camera position so that there is a separation between the person in the skiff and the shoreline beyond. Here is a quick alternative crop which itself could be improved on.

Hi Binnur, usually when we are looking for comments, we are thinking along certain lines. For example, are you more interested in improving in the area of composition, shooting, post processing, or something else? Tackling more than one area at a time can be confusing and counter productive.

So I would ask, what area do you feel needs improvement, what have you done to address your concerns in this area, and what specific questions would you like to resolve?

Binnur I think this is neat and tidy. To answer Bobos question. If it were mine I would hang it without a doubt. I think you did a good job displaying a scene you thought was worth saving. Some images to me fit the category of " the art of life" that's where this is for me. Of course I am no expert...

Now my say is - the shot is fine even to my landscape challenged eyes.

All you need is a bit of confidence. Just express your shots as you saw them in your mind and eyes and all should be good. Minor issues are always there but there is never a perfect pic.

The picture is fascinating. Since my last post, I was not satisfied with my own crop but the image is kind of stuck in my mind. I think that's a good thing .

One of the things I like is the contrast between the rough pier and the old boat on the right with a modern industrial city on the horizon at left. My crop previous crop was still too centered and while I liked the exposure and the color of the sky with it's subtle shadings I think turning it into a panorama makes the fisherman more of the subject and places him in the prominent position while still holding the modern features as a contrast.

Thank you Frank,I have learnt a lot here on this website...When I first came here I even didn't know,I had to be very careful about leveling horizon ,after uploading some photos I found out that a had some problems about focusing...So now I can really understand what you are suggesting...Improving area of composition is something really different from technical matters,because it depends on your taste of what you want to shoot.Personaly ,I'm very fond of nature and I will have to go to the mountains and wild sea shores to shoot so it will improve in time.But I can start working on focusing as soon as it gets warmer here.Because I have to focus whatever I shoot,I think I will solve this problem quicker than the compositon problem.

Thank you Saorsa,I agree with you, this crop is better than the previous one...I have learnt here in CIC how a bit of a cropping change things..Thanks for helping:-)

When I see the phrase "neat and tidy" I am also thinking you want an inspection for blemishes from spots on the lens, noise, etc. In that sense, the image is very neat and tidy. Nice image. One other thing, some images make you want to zoom in, observe detail for flaws, with this image I just liked what I saw and was happy with the distance from which I viewed the image.
