    Trilogy

Saw these in the garden tonight, and thought they'd make a nice photo.

    Hope you enjoy

Beautiful, Colin...it must be nice over there right now...I long for the warmth. Too cold here at this time of the year. With warmth, everything blooms, including this flowers.

    Thanks Isabel

Actually, we've had strong winds the past couple of days -- only managed one flight with my RC Helicopter (Grrr).

TO be honest, I'll be glad when summer is over - least favourite season for me; my eyes are quite sensitive and they really take a pounding outside this time of year - and it ends up being air conditioning at home / work / car. Bring on winter for me!

    Oh dear Colin...that is great.
Any chance of a lighting explanation?

Not looking on my own monitor, but it looks great. Light, airy, fresh are the sorts of words that come into my head as I look at it. Can smell the fresh air.

Always think that the best pictures should and do stir the senses.

Nice suggestion Nancy. May cheer her up a bit from what she must be going through at the moment.

I assumed so! A lot of work well done.

You mentioned that your eyes are sensitive to light this time of year. I wonder if you're aware that Steve McCurry of Afghan Girl fame has the same issue. He makes a point of shooting from within the shadows or inside during much of the daylight hours.

A different, but very pleasant view Colin.

I really appreciate seeing a fresh look at a well known subject, particularly when it is done to perfection.

This is awesome; you have nicely wrapped it with that thin border line and including caption within the image here really worked well, i feel

Beautiful - if they were birds I'd say it was an Audubon rendering.

    Re: Trilogy

    Hi Colin,

This is one of the most beautiful flower photos I've ever rested my eyes on. Could you please share a little bit about how you photographed this image. And I presume it is a flower on a white background, and not a high key image because no highlights are blown. And on that subject do you have any high-key images of flowers to share? And if you wanted to create a black background instead of a white background for this very same image how would you do that?

    Thank you.

Excellent Colin. I can imagine the work needed to get the lighting so good.
