Waiting for the sun
Covered in morning dew,this little guy was sitting on a wall waiting for the sun to dry him off,i got one shot and he disapeared!Anyone know what he is?

David,
Great capture, it's a species that comes within the common name of 'critters'
I saw your superb close-up of the fly in the competition for the first time yesterday, amazingly close !

It's a fly, David!
Looks roughly like one of the Mosquito family (Culicidae) but that is just a guess. And there are several alternatives.
In the UK, Culiseta annulata and Trichocera annulata (Winter Gnat) appear possibly similar. But they are something of a specialist subject.

Cheers Geoff,it was the same size as a mozzy and looked quite like one too,but without the pointy bit
