    Tamron 150-600 reviews

The reviews are starting to come in on the new Tamron 150-600 lens.

Yes, it has been discussed on the UK wildlife site which I use.

So far, it seems that everyone is positive about the idea.

I don't think I will exchanging my Sigma 150-500 just yet. But if I was in the market for something similar, I would certainly give this one some consideration.

I had never bought a lens that was made by other than the camera manufacturer until my recent purchase of a Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD and I am very impressed. DXO Mark and DP Review rate the Tamron slightly higher than the Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 so I gave it a try and am not disappointed at all. After that experience I may be adding the 150-600mm to my wish list.

Like you, John, I purchased the Tamron 24-70, with some trepidation, instead of the considerably more expensive Canon option, based on several reviews. So far, I haven't been disappointed with it.

Previously, I had tended to discount Tamron as being just a 'budget lens manufacturer' but it seems that they are now making attempts to become acceptable in the 'serious lens' market.

Will this force the previously recognised camera/lens brands to reconsider their pricing?
