Nice series...I particularly like the third one.

Hi Alex,
Cats and horses, eh?
You're lucky; we have 4 cats and 2 dogs at home and I don't whether that is relevant, but if I go anywhere near them when they're sleeping, any/all of them will wake up and come and say 'hello' to the lens and photographer. While the affection is nice, it makes it almost impossible to get shots like this!
Sorry, but I'd definitely have to clone out the lamp pole in #2 and the cable in #3 - see, I told you we (I) am all for PP
Nice pics though, definitely makes me want to stroke their soft fur.
Cheers,
Thanks Chuck!
Haha yeah animals is nice to photograph i guess He wasn't that easy to get on camera. Most times as you say the camera is darn interesting, especially when i start taking pictures and the shutter sounds. The one where he is really sleeping i had play navy seal and sneak up on him
I didnt see the cable and the lamp pole (its a speakerstand actually) untill after i had taken the pictures but i await your results eagerly!
OMG - Cats and Horses and Great Photos. You really must stay! )) I will watch and learn. I love #1 the other 2 are excellent also, but I agree with Dave on the cloning. You have to do it yourself though. You are too good to get help from me.
Nice job, I'm thinking you like the new camera.
Wendy
Dave: I wasnt that serious
Wendy: Thank you, #1 is my favourite to. I can try a little cloning i guess it has to be a first for everything

Re post #9 second pic
That's better- need to see his eyes better though. The boys (Dave and Colin) were talking about Fill Light in ACR in an earlier post. Might that work on the eyes?

Good idea Wendy, but it still didn't occur to me, doh.
In this case I cheated; I started trying to dodge the camera left (cat right) eye up a bit, but it looked a mess because it lifted the centre pupil too much, so then I burned that back down, then I thought it still needed something so I cloned the catchlight from the other eye, then I thought "what the heck" and cloned the pupil and catchlight
I softened the detail on the material in front of cat (and on the crop; also cloned out a couple of 'pulled thread' distractions), individually sharpened the cat's left whiskers to match the others.
Cheers,
It looks really good dave, a "little" bit more advanced then what i did
In the future i will try to avoid cables and speakerstands in the first place
Ahhhhh the third one - focus appears to be on those beautiful eyes. Very nice. I like the monochromatic colours too. I would just clone in some sheepskin in the black part middle left. Nice shot! Considering that you just woke him (her) out of a nice sleep, he has a very gentle look in his eye, must have a very good disposition. What breed is he. I'm sure there is someone here that has a similar looking cat, I wonder if they are the same breed.
7 cats - The Horror! Just kidding I like cats, but 7 of them would make me crazy. Sure wish I could sleep like they do. Nice shot, you'll have to show us the rest of the family. One of our seven cats catching forty winks..
