    After a long search

Here in the frozen north the current temperature is a temperate -2 F. I have searching for several weeks for a rare visitor from the arctic. About every 4-5 years, snowy owls will migrate into my part of Minnesota in response to a lack of sufficient food. This individual has been reliably showing up near a shopping center 10 miles from home.

Yes......I would preferred a better angle and a better perch than a light pole, but I am still I am pleased to have the opportunity to see this bird

Yes, camp out and wait for as long as it takes. I'm still searching for one of these beauties...

    Beautiful light, focus and exposure.

Nice shot Randy. We're actually seeing these birds in New Jersey this year for the first time ever.

This individual has proven to be pretty easy to pattern, it is frequently seen at this location. Story is that there are actually two owls in this area. My theory is that they are territorial, this light pole gives the owl a direct sightline into the other owl's territory. The boundary line is the highway between. I will be back!!!
