Don't worry, it's not too bad, the picture blacks are not as black as the border, so it lacks 'punch', this is probably what you mean above. If you can, it is always wise to check the histogram in Post Processing to spot such problems (before borders go on, or that'll mask it). I'd say the sky exposure is not very far off correct, unless you were aiming for a 'moodier', or darker, effect.

Unfortunately, it is slightly down on the right (i.e. sloping horizon).

Apart from that, compositionally (if that's a real word!), I'd personally crop another 4 or 5% off the left.

Overall, not a bad capture, a sort of a classic really; there being limited vertical features on a beach to make such a shot work, as you have.

That's how I see it, other's views may differ.

i see it on a mate pc and was shocked at the differents in colour and range of tones.i'll be getting a new one soon i think.cheers for the feed back

Just a thought, could you re-calibrate your 'dodgy' monitor or is it really beyond redemption?
