She is a beauty!
Nothing wrong with the shot, Brian, but nothing stands out for me either.
How about trying a crop from the right side, just past the dog's ear to concentrate more on its face. That would require a different size ratio though. Alternatively, you could possibly lose a bit from the bottom if you want to retain this size ratio.
Brighten the eyes so it will have impact ... just a suggestion..
Yes, I was wondering about adding a little highlight brightness. I think you have what I was considering, Isabel, its mostly the eyes which need a slight touch.
Thanks guys... I'll try working on the eyes. As for cropping down - I really wanted to show the entire body.
Brian, she is a great looking dog. And lucky you will have time to takes a lot more pictures as she grows up. She looks smart and nothing like a catch light in the eye (spark) shows that off. Keep them coming. PS: labs are my favourite dogs.
Thanks Louise - she does get a lot of comments everywhere we go. This photo was taken when she was 3 months old and she is now 2 years, so I have lots of photos of her - just need to get around to processing them.
What a pretty girl. As others have said, lightening the eyes/face would help. Another thing to consider in future is to avoid any more major transitions than necessary. In this case framing a bit higher to eliminate the dark band at bottom and include more of the wall above. I do like that you kept the whole dog in the frame. Particularly since she's a little pup in this shot.
Hope you don't mind that I took a quick shot at it. She's so cute I couldn't help myself.
