Which image has the better composition?

Which one do you like better in terms of composition? C&C on exposure and post are also welcome.

I really like the leading lines, colours, and tones. #1 looks nice too, but the foreground elements that give perspective, and sort of 'anchor' the image are right smack dead centre - which I'm sure is not a big deal, but it bothers me, for some reason...

I don't think you can make a direct comparison, Murat.

The first scene is of a lake, with a building in the background.

The second is a building, which happens to be alongside a lake. And with some nicely arranged lines leading into the centre of the image.

Second one for me Murat, very good comp. The pp is a little overdone for my taste, is it tone mapped ?

Compositionally, the three foreground objects in the first one are most prominent but feel disjointed from the rest of the scene. The competing elements are the background area house and trees, the lake, and three foreground elements. All of these are competing for attention and none of them are strong enough to take a commanding position.

The second one, on the other hand, has strong leading lines in the retaining wall driving the eye to focus on the much larger building. The dock provides an excellent resting point for the eye before setting off to complete a circuit around the lake, shore, bridge and back to the house and dock. Each time you complete the circuit you notice more elements of the image from the objects in the water to the shape of the clouds.

By comparison, the second scene is much more active and therefore a more interesting image.

Both have similar leading lines, angle is the only difference. The second has a larger building structure, but the first has added weight by the size of the boulder in the foreground. To challenging and both deserving of attention to choose one over the other.

Definitely no 2 as the rock in no1 leads the eye away from the whole picture - the sky in no 2 is more dramatic also.

I would have like to like #1 if the angle of the shot with the rock and the "wood" (?) pointing should be directed to the building. Composition wise #2 is good but overdone?

The second one for me is better composed, particularly with the bridge in the background. Some people like the heavy tone mapping, although I would have liked it a little less prominent. The aircraft ? / cloud ? in the first one distracts me quite significantly.
