    Ice on Pomton Lake.

Shot these ice pictures on Pomton Lake on a foggy morning two weeks ago. The original Raw fills are pretty plain. I was not sure how to handle the PS at beginning. Finally, decided to dramatically increase the clarity, vibrance, saturation and sharpness to show the vivid texture of the ice. I am OK with the final result, but not extremely excited about them. Want to see other CiC member's opinion. Hopefully, I can get better idea how to shoot icy landscape next time.

Interesting look in the first three, but like composition of 4th and 5th.

Brrrr, I feel cold just looking! Very nice!
I like 4 as there is something about that golden leaf in bottom left that intrigues me. Like it was caught
'Still golden' , by this massive ice storm.

How do I critic someone is who takes better and outstanding photo than me in this instance...??? Anyway, these are just some thoughts...

#1 is intriguing. Maybe you should have shot the bird at the distance instead...Were there two birds there?
#3 need a litte crop from the bottom.
#4 is such a lovely composition...I feel cold just looking at it.
The same with#5 -- love the driftwood caught in the ice...
#6 is pretty much the same with #4...

    How did I do?

I like the processing. It would work on some macro imags of those leaves and shards of ice too if you get another chance to go shooting. Be pleased with them.....

Nandakumar...for photographing, it is a yes-yes...if these snows and ice lands on your driveway and you have to shovel it off so you can get your car out to go somewhere...it is a no-no. Leave the snow to the Canadians

    Re: Ice on Pomton Lake.

Thanks John, Nacy, George, Isabel, Kaye and Kerala for your opinion. They are really helpful.

It seams #4 and 5 is OK for every one. Obviously, there is problem with first 3. After check every body's opinion, I realize the problem is that the point of interesting of all these three picture is not clear. I corp them again. There are not my original idea when I shot these picture, But I am sure the new version are what you really want to get from the picture. Like Colin told me in another thread: "Don't be afraid to experiment with different crops though". I am pretty satisfy the new version #1 and #3. How do you guy think?

#1 new: Cut the bottom part. Put the duck at the intersection of 2 1/3 lines to make it as point of interesting.

#3 New: Cut the top part. Put the yellow leaf at the intersection of 2 1/3 lines to make it as point of interesting.

#1 looks better,If I were you I wouldn't touch #3 because the untouched composition is better..They are very nice images overall:-)
