    Birds on Icy Lake.

The swans migrate away in winter time. But there are still many other birds live on Pomton Lake. I do like that they are all STANDING and WALKING on lake now. Here are a few pictures of bird on ice. As usually, I was focus on landscape and tried to treat the birds as a component for landscape composition. C&C welcome.

And, in my opinion, in images 1 & 4 you have succeeded in doing that spectacularly well. Your vision to see that the birds would turn nice but ordinary scenes into wonderful images is to be congratulated. I think the first one is so full of mood and atmosphere. Very impressive.

    Hui,

You certainly treat us to some great images, thank you for sharing.

No 4 is gorgeous, the simplicity of the scene, the moody mist and to top that the ducks.

#4 is great - terrific secene and lots to ponder regarding just where the birds were going. An open stretch of water perhaps ?

Nice seeing the opportunity here. Like other numbers 1 and 4 do it for me. In no.4, some selective contrast enhancement/sharpening on the birds might make them a bit more prominent without compromising the overall sense of the foggy scene.

    Good work.

Thanks you for your warm words. I have only gotten into photography for a few months. There are too much to learn and too little time. That is why I concentrate on landscape which I already had deep feeling and passion. Birds, boat, cloud, foggy, sun, moon, star, water and even people are the moving component in landscape. Each of them has its own character. Through practice, I am learning how to catch them technically and artistically. More importantly, it is photography let me calmly observe and experence so many beauty around us.
