    Entry Restricted

Hi, going forward on my photography venture I stopped and clicked another shot. Can you please review it and let me know what exactly is missing for it to make it much better?

It is an image clicked at India Gate. They have placed a board along with the chain (All around India Gate). It is an old image but i processed it today. With the composition i have used human legs acting as a barrier to stop the vision of the viewer to go out of the frame. I have also sharpened the chain to make the viewer's eye to bounce (Left and Right).

I believe a monochrome treatment was the best suited for such scene.

Please share your views about the composition and post processing.

    Thank You

PS : Please click on the image for lightbox screen view (Highly recommended)

    Raj,

The B & W processing is fine, the composition is okay, would have been better if actual doorway was included in the shot perhaps slightly out of focus.

Thanks a lot for the valuable review and feedback. I will keep your suggestion in mind for my next similar shoot. I have learnt that background is also an important factor in photography and will surely work on it.

I wonder about cropping to a different size ratio and removing the very blurred figure on the left?

Raj - the same thing that Geoff mentioned also struck me. Visually, we can take the background being softer and out of focus, but the foreground (i.e. things in front of the subjecty) generally need to be sharp. I would crop the figure on the left out as well.

I like the image but to me there is a certain irony in the sign. "THE DARING" suggests to me that they are challenging someone to step over the chain in defiance of the instruction.

thanks a lot for your valuable review The Daring is a slogan of the "Madras Regiment" who was posted for the security there and really well observed about the "Daring"
