Very nice. It took awhile before the Department of Transportation explained those "snow route" signs.
What is a snow route? Are those the rds. that will be safest to travel.
#2 is really special, which i like
I also like #2 and think it is special.
John...how did the Dept. of Transportation explained what those snow route are? I still have no idea what they are. I took the shot because of the frozen rain.
James...I have no idea if this road in front of my house will be safest to travel. Our roads around here have twists and turns and ups and downs, in short, very tight undulating roads we have here. Across my neighbours' houses the road is actually higher at the back than ours. It feels like they can look down at my kitchen everytime I serve dinner at night.
Thanks Nandakumar and Christina for your comments. I lost three of those pink berries at the right side when I uploaded the image. 'Was really disappointed there and repeated the cropping process and saved it as jpg instead of png and I still lost the three berries despite cropping it to 1000px. Next time I will just save as jpg from RAW before saving and using 10 as the quality instead of 12. I did something wrong and I will find out...
My guess is that the snow route is what some municipalities call a snow emergency route. When a snow emergency is officially declared, you're not supposed to park your car on the road, allowing for plenty of space and/or an extra lane for drivers.
Very interesting shots Izzie. The ice on the sign really makes it so much more "graphic" and the second shot looks really nice.
Dave
Thanks for clarifying that, Mike and John...I will put that in mind ...
Dave -- thanks for looking. I really, really appreciate your comment.
Nice shots Isabel. I tried something like this during the December ice storm but nothing came out nearly as nice.
Isabel,
And I thought the sign meant beware of snowmen with shovels
Grahame
I must have taken a hundred or so of that snow storm that time. After the storm settled down I saw some neighbours trying to plow their driveway too and two of them invited me to take photos in their backyard too. I went over the top trying to chase the sun lights on top of some firs at the back I think... It was fascinating to see frozen to the bone branches...
Here's one:
Sorry for being late Isabel..I loved #2 ,it is just to my taste, I love details in nature:-) I also like the last one ,again an interesting and beautiful piece from nature. When I shoot these kind of photos I'm usually full of emotions and I believe that feeling something is important while shooting..it makes the photo more tasteful:-)
I like the natural photos. If I talk about snow storm shots, I like most the image with snow and falling water drop from the branches of tree.
