I am not one for butt shots of birds up in trees. But, after trying for 3 winters to get one relatively close, the only shot has been, you guessed it, a butt shot.

Perhaps will get better luck later. They seem to everywhere this year so should not be hard to get a close up.

Thanks Frank. Not exactly, perhaps 30-40 feet up and I had to move away a certain distance to get the right angle to minimise the butt effect.

There are some must have poses for these guys including flight so will try to go to flatter areas and see if I can sneak up.

Its a great capture because it so fits your story. That owl is just not going to give you the shot you want - the expression just says that is so.....
It would be a fun picture to PP in different style if only to get your own back.
