I think those are Spiderman traps.

The original had so much contrast that the couple was deep in shadows, after converting to monotone I decided the couple should be part of the overall image and the lines would maintain their dominance.

Hi Isabel,

That's the Empire State Building. I'd been to NYC many times and finally decided to see what the fuss was about. This was shot in winter. temperature about fifty degrees so not an unpleasant experience. Thanks for the comments.

It's a great image - nice tonal range and strong composition. Is there no way to pull some of the shadow off the foreground couple - it seems to me they want to be a bit more lit up.

I could do that, they were originally in deep shadow. Thanks for the comments.

Version 2 does it for me John. The deep shadow of the original was a bit of a block because I kept wondering what they looked like. Now the strong leading lines take me right through the comp. Nice image.
