    My neglected Pantanal shots

    Dear fellows,

I was reviewing the images from my visit to Pantanal and found some neglected images that I think are not bad. So, I played with them a couple of hours and decided to share them with you. I hope they do justice to the original thread, that was dedicated to the memory of my grandfather (he passed away a couple of weeks before my trip). Here is the link to the original thread:Expedition: Pantanal - In memory of my Grandfather (SERIES) . C&C welcomed, as always. Kindest regards,

I gotta agree with Bobo when he said "Great shots Otavio. I particularly like the caracaras."
Aside, Great Blue Herons...is there anyplace where they don't exist?

Yes, great shots. The Caracas and the Heron (I love his stance and the setting) are my favourites.

Very nice series all round Otavio but for me 3, 5 and 7, (particularly 5) really stand out.

Hello, Chauncey. Thanks for viewing and commenting. Regarding the Blue Herons, I think as long as there is water and some fish, they will surely be there!

    Re: My neglected Pantanal shots

Hi Otávio. This is a fantastic series and deserves the many comments posted. I would like to comment on a few as well. One of my favorites is the Anhinga owing to the rare head and neck only above water - not a common image.

I also love the March Deer but many of the blades of grass in the top half of the image appear to be duplicated as if an out of alignment merge was involved. The effect is to appear that the scene is marginally out of focus.

Because the backlit crocodile has such high contrast ripples in the water, I might give a try at reducing the contrast of just the water.

    I hope this helps!
