Do you expect anything else from a SanDisk?

Great story. Maybe the insurance company will want a bit of a refund.
And Sandisk will have a good reason to brag about it too. Sandisk is really good. I have the extreme versions though...
According to SanDisk, the Ultra cards (like the one in this story) are actually more robust than the Extreme and Extreme Pro series. Ultras are rated to withstand 3 days in 1m (3.3ft) of salt water. The Pentax Optio W20 is also waterproof, rated to JIS 8 ("continuous immersion"), depth and time not specified.
Of course, the pressure at 150ft is about 5.5atm (80psi). Not many cameras are actually designed to operate there. Still, for consumer-class hardware, the combo in the story is considerably more robust than most.
I never had Ultra so I do not know...I always manage to circulate my Sandisk and after these many years, I have only lost one...'need some more and an extra battery for my trip. Thanks for reminding me.
