Hi Roger,
For me I like #'s 1 & 3. I think you might get away with a much tighter crop on #1.
On #3 you might try cloning out the tree and pole on the far right, otherwise I really like this shot.
Roger
no's 1, 3 and 4. Agree with Jack re no 1, great shot - slightly unusually. No 3 is just beautiful. No 4 is a great wildlife shot - I really like the organised chaos that you've captured.
Clive
Nice shots:-)
Yes, possibly two images to be had from #1. This overall shot sets the scene, but a tighter crop on the birds is also worth trying.
And #3 has everything.
I'm not being disrespectful of your answer but, what does 'nice shots' mean? Do we mean nice images, and the word 'nice' could we not make it more clearer to the photographer what is 'nice' about it. We could put good composition for the first image, good detail in the feathers for the second image and so on and so forth. I see this a lot in different forums, 'nice shot of a bird' as if we are shooting it with a gun, Just my thoughts.
Dave.
I just love #1 and 3 -- Good ones!
For me it's #3 and #4. I think that #3 is amazing but I agree with the others about cloning out the flag pole and possibly the tree. I would also suggest considering the removal of the two partial birds on the left. The clouds really mirror the movement of the bird and the image have a lovely movement to it.
On #4 I think that organized chaos was an apt description but I would consider trying to lighten up (or crop) the darker area on the upper right. While that might change your aspect ratio I think it enhances the chaos but doesn't detract from the overall image.
Nice captures Roger - thank you for sharing.
Hi Dave, sometimes you can see 'nice shots' sometimes you can see some detailed comments in the forums. For me I think it just depends on what the viewer feel at that time and also it depends on the technical knowledge of the viewer about photography. We are all here to learn,to share our knowledge,to improve ourselves and to have fun at the same time.Sometimes I might be ill or sleepy and I can't concantrate on but I still want to give my support to the shooter as well and I just say 'nice'.Sometimes my techical knowledge is not that enough and I can't make a detailed comment. So as you can see there are so many reasons for 'nice shots'.Because I can see that you are not happy with this kind of comment ,I'm not going to use such words with your shoots.Regards.
Quite the variety pack. No.4 is a hard one to pull off. In this case IMO the angle and resultant reflections on the water confuse the scene. No.5 is an interesting perspective I've not seen before. It might be improved if you could cut the haze/increase the contrast around the skyline without losing the silhouettes of the palm trees. Easy for me to say...
In addition to my answer, if you look at my posts you will see some detailed comments as well and if you look at the comments of the other members you will find a lot of 'nice's...So I'm not very different from the other members.I would wonder why you did choose my comment to criticize but I'm not going to bother myself.Regards.
Hi Roger,
The 3rd image is absolutely gorgeous, and one of my all time favourites of yours. I especially love it for the gorgeous light, the detail in the beautiful wispy clouds and because all the birds just make it special.
I also like the 4th image (all those birds in one shot) and the 1st image because it is very unusual.
Aside... I often just say gorgeous, beautiful or exquisite... just to take the time to compliment someone and that usually means I think everything about the image is perfect. Plus time limitations and because I am still learning my own knowledge/capability of being able to critique a photo, or even knowing what the person was trying to capture in the image often limits what I say. And sometimes when someone is just learning I think it is sufficient and encouraging on the things down well. ie; until one is ready to learn more.
Thanks Shane, Isabel, Dave, Jeff Binnur and L.Paul,
Thanks Christina I appreciate all comments because I know it takes time and it's easy to just bypass it.
I like 1 to 4 and in particular 3. I like the presentation of the environment in 1 and that little tree if fine in 3 imho.
All round a dang good job.
