Have you tried B/W yet on these? They seem to be a good candidate for it...especially the bring out the mystery of the mist...
WOW ! these are really amazing shot.. Beautiful pictures ..
Saorsa,
Very nice scene and colours but would be even better if we could view them at a larger pixel width, say 1200?
Grahame
Well, those have a width of 1024 as I uploaded them. I'm not sure what this site does with resolution.
I have also posted them at my blog site at http://birdsnbugs.wordpress.com/2014...-lake-florida/ they seem to come up a bit larger there.

No 1 is a great image. The original is a good capture and nicely composed. I really like the crop and saturation to give those soft golden hues. Much better than black and white.

Yes..both of them are good shots, nice...clean...but I'd like to see the B/W version because to my mind, you can achieve looking for the mystery of the mists in it. My mind is a bit fertile this morning (it's 4:00am here) but didn't you feel the drama of this last one than the coloured version? As I had said before, I am not into black and white for a long time and I am just beginning to feel the like of that kind of media...mists in B/W like Saorsa's shots brought out that drama I'd like to feel in it. Your eyes sees different than mind, me -- I'd like to find that story as I linger with it...There are photos I'd just wade through, but this ones I'd linger on and run away with my imagination...I went downstairs a while ago with my dog and I saw a distant view of the mist up West of my house and I like it. thought I can one day (while it is winter) go with my husband to our hangar and take photos like this by the river...looks black and white then I came up here and the first thing I saw was this response of Soarsa to my post. Very inspiring. I used to dismiss this kind of view around here...
Wow :-)
Sorry ,with capitals WOW :-)
Great set Saorsa, well captured, like Isabel i think the b+w works well also
Nice shots. I really like the composition on the first one. The pano crop and placement of the bit of grass in lower right of frame is brilliant. Underexposing shots like this will often provide the dramatic contrast and bring out the colors in camera the same way as you did in PP.
You should never dismiss your local views as uninteresting. The Wildlife Management Area where these were taken is about 70000 acres south of town and has about 3 building on it. Across the road at the far end is another 50,000 owned by the state but operated as a farm and tour area. Almost all of it is pine flatwoods like the far shore.
I sometimes enter exhibitions and look at the catalogs. Some of the locations seem so exotic that I think it must be easy to take great pictures there. But, then I realize that it is just a tired eye on my part. My home area is as exotic to some as the Himalayan lakes are to me. I just have to see it with a clear mind and a bit of wonder.
Beautiful images. The first is my favourite for the composition, beautiful light and colours.
