    Yup Colin you do have a reputation. But it is your dedication to detail that allowed you to create 'Trilogy'. It is also the teacher in you that reminds me so gently and so well that there is a very big need in me to pay more attention to the details. So please don't stop.

    That one was just a smidgen over-sharpened, but you still need to push those levels a bit more though.

    okay you have a whole bunch more pop and a little more background noise? I will work on it. I like your pop and my softness.

    If noise is an issue, it probably means you're under-exposing at the time of capture.

    My version is actually slightly softer than yours (I applied a 0.3px Gaussian blur).

    Gaussian Blur is not something I have played with yet. I do tend to underexpose just a tad.

    It's a good way to sooth over-sharpened areas. If you're not sure of the exposure, try taking a bracket of shots and play with them in post-processing to see which one has the best range of information.
