Were you able to take a shot of them flying together yet? Nice comp, Trevor...

Nice comp for sure. I would have tended to lose some of the background brightness in preference for a bit of lightening up the birds somewhat.

Nice image. Did you crop anything from the top? If so, what was there that you didn't like or were you going for rule of thirds?

Cool stuff, Trevor. Really great habitat shot. In the way of C/C, seems like a lot of dead space in the middle of the frame. That's pretty featureless space so it may be fairly easy to scooch it together a bit in photoshop and go with a pano crop.

Just wanted to tighten up the image slightly. The background is darkened and I didn't reprocess it to get rid of the posterization in the blue of the sky above mountains in this version as I only wanted to show the full original.

I may have to reinvest in Photoshop. I don't have the capacity to cut out the excess water, and i dearly wish I did. I fully agree with you and Bobo about the void of water.

This was shot the next morning and has a little less water between the Scoters and Vancouver Island

Unfortunately not. My skills at birds in flight is pathetic. That plus these guys like to just skim the surface in a crowd so in the attempts I did try the lens couldn't seem to track the focus. I think. Nasty blur anyway
