    The mosque

It's a big'un, this mosque. This is a 16 shot pano taken hand held with a 50mm prime lens. With such a wide field of view there's bound to be some compromises when it comes to the stitch, so the pavement in the foreground is slightly curved.

Plenty of detail in the half sized image I've posted here if you zoom in (as well as a few stitching errors for the eagle eyed to find but I'm not printing this so I'm not too concerned).

That's a lot of work Phil, but the detail in an 8,000 pixel wide image is absolutely amazing!

This has got to be seen in Lytebox and expanded to actual size to really be appreciated!

One day I'm going to shoot a scene like this and compare it to a single shot wide-angle lens image at the identical display resolution just to see the differences.

I remember doing one of these large panos, then getting so frustrated when I had to shrink the result down to 1,600 pixels wide for display on the web and much of the really fine detail was lost. Frustrating to say the least. I'm guessing that for a large print it would be worth the effort though!

That's a great shot Phil. The curve in the pavement doesn't stand out as being too unnatural. Excellent record.

It took a while to load but was worth it.

Vertical or horizontal pano? or both?

Nicely done, Phil. That is a huge pano. Quite the decadent building.
