For me, it evokes a momentary vision of summer picnics in the midst of a long, cold winter. Ha! I think you can guess why I moved away from the beautiful Northwest to Florida -- to escape winter!!
I'm glad you like it Sue. At least I think that's what you meant? Maybe not!
There may be some irony in the fact that this shot was taken in southern Utah!
Having been born in New England and spent many years in Maine and Canada, I now live in the land of the half-backs. Those that move to Florida to escape the winters of the north only to find that it's too darn hot, move half-way back, and settle in the Carolinas!
I got it...this is a nice image; that is why you , and every body liked it
Yep! I liked it!
As for the heat in Florida, I've been here two years (after 25 years in the Portland, Oregon area), and while there are certainly some hot days in summer, I am rarely too hot. I've been known to sit out by our pool for hours in summer (admittedly, in the shade), enjoying the sunshine that I missed so much in the nine long, cold, windy, gray, dark, rainy months you get every year in Portland! The joke in Portland is that summer starts on the FIFTH of July (always cold and rainy on the Fourth of July holiday).
And in winter, like now, Florida's truly paradise to me. Today it's in the high 70's. All our doors are open and I hear the birds in my yard singing. It's like the best summer day in Portland!
I do hear that the Carolinas are beautiful and now that we're on that side of the U.S., we'll definitely have to visit them sometime.
LOL! I hear you! My youngest son lives in Gig Harbor, WA and he describes it that way. He married on the 4th of July so that he wouldn't forget their anniversary!
Having spent some time in Newfoundland, the joke there is that summer is so short that sometimes it arrives in the middle of the night and they miss it entirely!
You'll enjoy visiting the Carolinas.
