Wandering along the streets in St Pedro la Laguna in Guatemala, I managed to take this picture of a young girl, who looked far older than she probably is (looking at how she is dressed), holding a baby. I particularly like the way her clothes match the wall she is sitting against.

I managed to get the shot just before she noticed me and my camera...

This seems to be the norm in Developing Countries; where older siblings take care of the younger ones.

Good capture, Manfred. Though I don't know anything about Mayan culture, I feeling the wall contextualises the girl. I just wonder if the tight crop was necessary? Her feet only just made it into the frame, but her head seems to be cramped below the horizontal row of bricks at the top. Or maybe that is a bit of an illusion because the grey of the wall blends in with the background on the web page here
