Usually a sky scene without a land (or sea) base doesn't work very well but in this case it stands alone quite nicely. I think a lot has to do with the diagonal line formed by the red against the blue works extremely well as does the patch of blue sky in the shape of an arrow or perhaps an aircraft right on that diagonal line.

I agree with Frank. It's hard to make an interesting sky only shot but you pulled it off. And nicely so. Good job.
